Assistance League of Boise is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, organization that puts caring and commitment into action through philanthropic programs in Ada County. Nationwide, the member volunteers are dedicated to ongoing support and long-term presence in the communities they serve.

Assistance League of Boise was organized in 1976, chartered in 1980, and is the 67th Chapter of National Assistance League. There are more than 120 chapters and guilds across the United States with over 24,000 members. In 2007-08 Assistance League chapters returned nearly $36 million to local communities across the country and invested more than 2.6 million service hours.

Assistance League of Boise supports seven community based philanthropic programs  benefiting everyone from infants to adults residing in Ada County.  There are currently more than 365 dedicated members working to make Ada County a better place to live and work through our hands-on programs. Approximately 40,808 hours were volunteered by our dedicated members in 2008-09.

The organization's major sources of funding include the Thrift Shop, an annual fundraising letter by mail dedicated to Operation School Bell®, a Philanthropic Endowment Fund at the Idaho Community Foundation, grants and donations.
